Research summary

Combining field observations, experimental studies and modeling, I examine the physical and chemical feedbacks between coastal vegetation and the surrounding environment. Specific topics include carbon cycling in seagrass meadows, ecosystem services of coastal vegetation, and examining ecosystem functioning to identify the resilience of coastal ecosystems to global change. By collaborating with scientists from diverse fields, I aim to robustly enhance our understanding of marine ecosystems with the hope to foster greater societal awareness of the importance of natural ecosystems.
